Never dog-ear pages.<\/li><li>Keep books <strong>away from babies and pets<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Keep books <strong>away from water, food, and drinks.<\/strong><\/li><\/ul><h1>Services Offered<\/h1><ul><li>Instruction in the use of a library media center<\/li><li>Help with locating books and information<\/li><li>Assistance with research strategies<\/li><li>Instruction in using online databases and software<\/li><li>Lessons on Digital Citizenship and navigating social media<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>Library Use Policies<\/strong><\/p><p><strong><u>Mission<\/u><\/strong><\/p><p>The mission of the library media program is to ensure that students and staff are effective users of ideas, information and technology. Creating a foundation for lifelong learning is at the heart of our program, so that we are prepared to set sail into tomorrow\u2019s world.<\/p><h1>Check-out Policy<\/h1><ul><li>There is a two-week checkout period. Items can be renewed as needed.<\/li><li>The number of resources students can check-out is based on the following grade level system.<\/li><\/ul><p>Kindergarten Students \u2013 1 book<\/p><p>First Grade Students \u2013 2 books<\/p><p>Second Grade Students \u2013 2 books<\/p><p>Third Grade Students \u2013 3 books<\/p><p>Fourth Grade Students \u2013 3 books<\/p><p>Fifth Grade Students &#8211; 3 books<\/p><ul><li>Students may be given special permission to checkout additional books for research projects and extra check-outs are given as a reward in media.<\/li><li>Classroom teachers distribute overdue notices and <strong>parents will be emailed overdue notices when necessary.<\/strong><\/li><li>Fines are not charged, but <strong>students are expected to pay for lost or damaged books<\/strong>.
